The John’s Killer Protein® – Sugar Free High Protein Egg Nog Recipe
Before you read on, f you’re thinking this will taste just like another protein shake, you’ll be wrong! This tastes like Egg Nog, like REAL Egg Nog – frothy, smooth, creamy and delicious Egg Nog. It’s Christmas bliss in a cup! It’s totally sugar-free and low in carbs and made with our own truly grass fed Irish isolate. This recipe can easily be considered the Holy Grail of Christmas protein recipes! Ho Ho Ho – You’re welcome!
Recipe makes 2 cups – so grab a friend and be ready to share. Macros per cup are – Fat: 12g. Carbs: 6g. Protein: 30g
Total Prep Time: 10 minutes.
Ingredients:
- 3 organic egg yolks
- 1/4 cup John’s Killer Protein® – Lean Blend Grass Fed Irish Isolate
- 1/4 cup single cream
- 1 cup of milk (We used coconut milk, but any other milk will do)
- 1/4 cup milk – set aside and the same as used above.
- 2 drops toffee flavor/extract (optional but worth the hassle)
- 1 packet DOLCE – Slender Indulgences® Spanish Horchata
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon brandy (optional but hey, ‘tis the Season)
Directions:
- Whisk the whey, 1/4 cup of milk, and yolks in a bowl (or shake in a shaker cup) until you get a frothy mix.
- Heat up the cup of milk with the brandy until it gets hot but do not let boil.
- Once the milk is warm, SLOWLY pour it into the whey and egg mix while whisking. You need to whisk continually and pour the milk in slowly, so the yolks don’t cook. Think creamy Egg Nog not Egg Drop Soup!
- Once you’ve poured all the milk into the whey mix and it all looks nice and smooth, transfer the whole thing back to the pot where the milk was and heat it back up at a low/medium heat while stirring. Add the DOLCE – Slender Indulgences® Spanish Horchata, a stick or two of cinnamon to the mix. Cook while stirring, keep on low heat for about 5 minutes.
Pour the Egg Nog into two cups. Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top and…ENJOY!
