OUR STORY
In 2016, we decided to call BS on the supplements industry. We were disappointed with all the products being pushed as healthy supplements, but were instead filled with additives, artificial flavors, sugars, dies, artificial sweeteners & flat out dangerous or untested ingredients.
We created John’s Killer Protein® with a focus on quality and integrity. We went back to basics…we simplified…and we decided to create pure and clean products we would feel good about.
By doing that, we knew we would go up against the huge brands with flashy logos, slick marketing campaigns, photoshopped fitness models, INSTAfamous socialites & multi-million dollar marketing budgets. But we believed that if we made products we genuinely felt proud about, everything else would fall in place! It’s been the happiest decision we’ve made, and we haven’t looked back since!
We are proud to offer Whey and Casein Protein Blends packed with essential and branched chain amino acids, minerals, complex carbs, healthy fats and other nutrients designed to fuel your active life. Today, we make 6 protein blends each formulated with purpose. Always unsweetened and never with any artificial flavors or additives. We carefully select our vendors and our ingredients are picked and tested to ensure John’s Killer Protein® products are minimally processed, made with organic ingredients, certified GMO free, soy free, and growth hormone free (rBGH/rBST free).
Our promise to you is to never waiver from our commitment to quality and purity. Our whey and casein protein blends contain everything you need and nothing you don’t.
We hope you’ll enjoy our protein blends as much as we enjoy making them – cheers!
IRELAND
WHERE THE GRASS IS GREENER
John’s Killer Protein® is filtered from Truly Grass Fed milk, sourced from 4,800 farms located in Ireland’s most fertile land. Each farm has an average of 80 cows on approximately 150 acres, which is only about one cow for every two acres. Now that’s what we call room to roam!
Farmers we partner with and source our ingredients from share deep bonds with their herds. These Irish farmers are truly innovators and belong to a dairy cooperative in Ireland that cares so deeply about animal welfare that they commission regular, independent, third-party animal audits across this entire co-op of farms. These small family owned farms are what make John’s Killer Protein® possible! We take pride knowing that animal welfare is right at home here.
QUALITY, PERFECTED
We source what we consider to be the highest quality ingredients available. At John’s Killer Protein®, we hold ourselves and our vendors throughout the entire supply chain to levels of quality unseen elsewhere in the industry.
We believe that no detail is too small! We, alongside our vendors and partners, strive to deliver the best possible Whey & Casein Protein blends.
JOHN’S KILLER PROTEIN® & THE BENEFITS OF OUR CERTIFIED GRASS FED
All protein is not created equal. In fact, studies show that certain bioactive ingredients appear in higher concentrations in protein micro-filtered from grass-fed vs. grain-fed cows! That is why we only source from small farms certified to produce only grass-fed & grass-finished dairy.
CONJUGATED
LINOLEIC ACIDS (CLAS)
Grass-fed dairy has twice the level of these powerhouse nutrients, which have been shown to aid in the fight against hypertension, obesity, diabetes and cancer. CLAs are a type of fatty acid that naturally occurs in dairy products.
BETA CAROTENE
AND VITAMIN A
You can thank Beta Carotene (a form of vitamin A) for the rich golden hue of grass-fed butter—not to mention its associated health benefits, including antioxidant properties and a link to cancer prevention.
OMEGA
FATTY ACIDS
Grass-fed milk has a more optimal ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids, which can lead to the suppression of a variety of health problems, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

beyond the labelFULLY TRACEABLE
Every cow in Ireland has a unique number that is recorded in a central government-managed database to monitor her whereabouts throughout her life. Additionally, every farmer accepted into our vendor supply chain has a unique barcode that enables us to track where every single batch of milk comes from. That’s just two more ways that we go the extra mile—from farms to your protein shake.
COLD PROCESSED & UNDENATURED
“Undenatured” is basically just dairy-industry speak for “as close to nature as it gets.” Protein is optimized in its most undenatured form, so we carefully control our processing temperatures—we use cold processing—to ensure that our products maintain the highest possible levels of undenatured protein. Additionally, we do not use any acid or bleach in our manufacturing process.
MICROFILTERED
John’s Killer Protein® products go through an advanced microfiltration system that separates out key elements of the dairy and concentrates the natural purity of the end product.
We offer three categories of Protein; Whey Concentrates (minimum protein concentration of 80%), Whey Isolates (minimum protein concentration of 90%) and Milk Protein Concentrates (Casein and Whey, minimum protein concentration of 85%).
SAFE AND PASTEURIZED
In compliance with US food safety regulations, all raw milk is pasteurized to ensure it is safe for your enjoyment. In addition, each farm’s milk is tested numerous times from pick-up through processing to ensure it contains no impurities and meets the high standards of the John’s Killer Protein® name.
SUSTAINABLE
The quality of John’s Killer Protein® products is a reflection of our relationship to our community. We are constantly striving to do better, be better and achieve a truly sustainable milk supply with a minimal carbon footprint. That’s why we partnered with, and source from vendors who belong to the Truly Grass Fed Sustainability Program in which small family owned farms are certified to the Sustainable Dairy Assurance Scheme (SDAS) which is part of Origin Green, Ireland’s national sustainability initiative.
WHY IRELAND?
THE ISLE’S UNIQUE ENVIRONMENT
Ireland is home to a centuries-old tradition of superior dairy farming supported by the lush, native grasslands that covers the country. We are proud to source from Farmers that belong to and support this Truly Grass Fed initiative of sustainable agriculture, cow-friendly climate and rich natural resources.
Forging these relationships and sourcing our ingredients from Ireland was no easy task, but we are confident you’ll agree that our superior Whey and Casein Protein blends are well worth our efforts!
THE AIR
Ireland has some of the freshest and cleanest air you can find anywhere in the world. In fact, it is one of the lowest emitters of carbon in the world and is certified by the Carbon Trust in the UK. Truly Grass Fed contributes to our Company’s goal of low carbon footprint. Farmers we partner with keep their cows where they belong: outside. Cows spend the majority of the year outdoors, so there is no need for expensive, energy-wasting heat or air conditioning. What’s more, Ireland’s immense grasslands convert vast amounts of CO2 into oxygen every day, further contributing to the clean air and positive environmental impact.
THE RAIN
Ireland’s plentiful precipitation is one of its most valuable natural resources as far as dairy cows are concerned. Thanks to the country’s location on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean and its mild climate created by the Transatlantic Gulf Stream, farms do not require mechanical irrigation. That means farmers we source from face no energy costs associated with watering their pastures to provide a natural and nutritious diet for our Truly Grass Fed cows.
THE GRASS
Ireland boasts a yearly grass growth rate that exceeds the European average by more than a third, so it’s no wonder this majestic nation is home to some of the world’s finest grass-fed dairy. Of the many grass varieties, dairy farmers tend to cultivate varieties that offer exceptional nutritional value and easy digestibility for cows. Truly Grass Fed farms also add a bit of clover to the mix for nutritional value and to aid the natural nitrogen balance in the soil.
THE SOIL
Limestone soils are one of Ireland’s most powerful assets, and they are the basis for a Truly Grass Fed diet. Lime is a natural neutralizing agent and it is massively beneficial to grass growth. Farmers we partner understand the importance of these pastures, so we encourage our partners to test their soil every 3–5 years. After testing, farmers add the recommended nutrients and can plan to re-seed as appropriate to replenish grass variety and feed their hungry herds.
THE CLIMATE
“Too hot to trot” or “too cold for comfort” are rarities in Ireland. Temperatures typically range from 40–50 degrees Fahrenheit (4–10 Celsius) in winter and 60–70 degrees Fahrenheit (16–21 Celsius) in summer. Thanks to this temperate climate, cows that produce the dairy we source have the freedom to graze outdoors for up to 300 days per year. During the winter months, they enjoy shelter, rest and natural grass silage with less than 5% supplemental feed to keep them happy and nourished until spring arrives and they can return outside.
OUR GRASS FED V.S.
OTHER ORGANIC PROTEIN
We believe that our Protein made with Truly Grass Fed Whey compares favorably with (if not better than) U.S. organic certification standards for dairy.
Cows on farms we source from eat a complete and certified natural diet of grass and enjoy an easy outdoor lifestyle that promotes better health and better quality milk. U.S. Organic standards do not dictate the type of feed for dairy cows (most are fed corn and concentrates, which are difficult to digest and promote dangerous bacterial growth within the milk supply), nor do they guarantee that the cows won’t spend most of their lives confined in indoor spaces.
